On February 26th, 2023, YouTuber and TikToker posted a video in which he describes the story, calling it the scariest creepypasta he's ever read, garnering over 1.4 million views in a week (shown below). Borrasca is based on a multi-part short story written by Rebecca Klingel (also known as CK Walker), which she posted to the r/nosleep community on Reddit in. Her final appearance was in S7E25s 'Borrasca'. She made her debut in S4E05s 'The Copycat Neighbors'.

On November 20th, 2021, YouTuber ODDity then posted an animation based on the story, garnering over 22,000 views in two years (shown below, right). A multi-award winning anthology series of original horror stories, The NoSleep Podcast features a cast of talented voice actors, rich atmospheric music and sound effects to enhance the frightening tales. Tisha Boone is a retired narrator on The Nosleep Podcast. Episode one gained over 78,000 views on the QCODE YouTube channel in three years (shown below, left). On May 25th, 2020, the first episode of a podcast adaptation of the story, produced and narrated by actor Cole Sprouse, was uploaded online. The story became notably popularized over the following years, inspiring fan art (examples from DeviantArt shown below) and other content, as well as reactions and readings online. On November 13th, 2015, YouTuber MrCreepyPasta posted a video reading the entire creepypasta, garnering over 1.1 million views in eight years (shown below). They put the women who grow too old to deliver "profitable babies" into a woodchipper-like machine used to refine ore, which is the screaming sound that the kids heard in the woods from time to time. Its not all morbid, dark & bloody horror can be funny or heartwarming too, & 'Library Basement' is both. The show has always known that horror fiction encompasses a huge variety of styles & feels. The Prescott family and the sheriff have been stealing and impregnating girls who come from outside of the town in a depleted iron mine known as Borrasca and selling the children to wealthy couples. This one typifies the type of creative storytelling that gives NoSleep its staying power. They learn that the town's people are largely unable to have babies, likely due to residue from the now-depleted mines leaking into the water. Years after his sister goes missing, Sam and his friends try to solve the disappearances. It tells the story of the quaint town of Drisking, Missouri that is haunted by mysterious disappearances.

The adults in the town brush off the disappearances, thinking Sam's sister ran away with her old boyfriend. In the same style as Archive 81, Borrasca is a slow-burn podcast that combines elements of noir and horror. One day, Sam's sister goes missing and the kids start to wonder if the skinned men got her. Sam asks what it is and one friend tells him it's "Borrasca," which she says is a place in the woods "where bad things happen" and "skinned men" live.

He makes some friends and they all hear a grinding noise coming from the forest one night while drinking. In the story, a boy named Sam, his sister and his family move to the mountain town of Drisking.
